This week’s icebreaker is inspired by the very surprising and very welcome return of ‘NSYNC (drop the tour dates).

The icebreaker:

What was your first fandom?

I’ve got a few contenders for this one: the Sweet Valley High Senior Year series (but specifically the Senior Year ones). Guster — that one’s still going strong. And Rent, which in 4th grade I was far too young to actually understand but loved anyway.

I love this question because it’s such a good peek into people’s backgrounds, childhoods, and odd obsessions. And it’s a great way to find unexpected commonalities.
